Free supper
NORWAY — A free supper will be held from 5 to 6 p.m. Friday, Feb. 17, at Second Congregational Church, UCC, 205 Main St. This is the ninth in a series of free suppers.
Whether visiting the Oxford Hills, single or a large family group, all are invited to a delicious meal of baked beans, ham, mac and cheese, veggies and Bruce’s famous desserts.
The members and friends of the Second Congregational Church invite the public to join them for worship services and Sunday fellowship time. The church is an open and affirming congregation. Calendar raffle
NAPLES — Lake Region High School Project Grad 2012 committee is selling tickets for the annual March Madness Calendar Raffle. Items on the calendar were donated by local businesses and supporters of Project Graduation.
A ticket will be drawn every day during the month of March; the lucky winner will receive that day’s prize. Their number will go back into the drawing for another chance to win. Winners will be contacted by phone or email. All proceeds directly benefit the chem-free graduation event for the Lake Region High School Class of 2012. There are 31 chances to win.
Cost is $3 for one, $5 for two or $10 for five. Mental mediumship
HARTFORD — Pinpoint of Light Spiritualist Center, Hartford Town Hall, 1190 Main St., will present “Mental Mediumship,” at 10:30 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 19.
Mental mediumship is subjective in nature because it applies more directly to the intellect. Some examples of mental mediumship are spiritual healing, trance mediumship, inspirational speaking or writing and messages from spirit given through clairvoyance, clairsentience and/or clairaudience.

LOCKE MILLS — The Locke Mills Union Church will have a potluck supper at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 22. Bring a dish to share and join for Ash Wednesday following. Everyone is welcome.
Word challenge
PARIS — For word enthusiasts, a cryptogram challenge will take place at 11 a.m. Monday, Feb. 27, at the Paris Public Library.
A cryptogram is a word puzzle written in code. The letters in the message are each substituted with another letter.
A copy of the same cryptogram will be given to each participant in an envelope with a pencil. Everyone will begin at the same time. The winner of the challenge will be the first to complete the cryptogram correctly. Time will be extended to the second- and third-place winners. Feel free to bring coffee, tea, etc.
