Recreation spot

OXFORD — Oxford Recreation is open in the original Oxford Community Building for all Oxford residents on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. It will remain open through March and possibly April as well.

All ages are welcome. There is outdoor ice skating, with skates available. Inside activities include arts and crafts, movie night, music and more. Call 393-7707 or 890-7575 for times. Internet is also available.

Oxford Recreation is accepting pine wood for the wood-burning pit. Donations of craft magazines, double-runner skates and regular skates are also sought.

Benefit ‘fun-raiser’

HARRISON — On Sunday, Feb. 12, there will be a benefit “Fun-raiser” at The Olde Mill Tavern. This will be the second annual event. A brunch buffet will be served by the OHCHS Jazz Band and Chamber Choir. The cost is $10.99 per person for people 12 and over and $6.99 for people under 12. The brunch will be served from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Benefits the music department. There may also be some impromptu performances happening.

Clothing Center

HARTFORD — The Hartford Community Church Clothing Center will be open from 1 to 2:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 18. The Clothing Center is located on Church Street, directly opposite the Hartford Community Church.

Comedy night

OXFORD — The Oxford Hills Christian Academy Drama Team will host their fourth annual Comedy Night at Hosanna Church, 109 Schoolhouse Road, at 6 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 18. Doors will open at 5:30. Comedy Night is hosted by the OHCA Drama Team, and will be emceed this year by Steve Corning, an OHCA alum, as well as recent graduate of The Barn Theater in South Paris.

This will be a great evening of silly sketches and improv that can be enjoyed by the whole family. Admission is free. Donations support the purchase of scripts, royalties, costumes and props for the team’s spring theatrical production to be produced in mid-May.
