FARMINGTON — A Jay man pleaded not guilty to 11 sex-related charges against two children under age 14 on Friday in Franklin County Superior Court, according to court documents.

Joshua K. Welch, 31, was indicted Jan. 12 on one count of gross sexual assault and 10 counts of unlawful sexual contact.

Jay police Detective Richard Caton IV arrested Welch in August 2011 on two counts of unlawful sexual contact.

The abuse occurred from Jan. 1, 2007, to Aug. 15, 2011, according to the indictment.
