PARIS — Oxford County has updated roles in the county Emergency Management Agency in a reorganization of the department.

The office manager position has been changed to deputy director, clarifying that the person is able to take over when the director is unavailable.

The department now has a director, deputy director, administrative assistant and planner.

County Administrator Scott Cole said the positions now fit departmental standards for the county. The county is slowly working on reorganizing the department after former Director Scott Parker’s resignation in July 2011.

Parker was the subject of an investigation by the Oxford County Sheriff’s Office on whether he broke privacy laws by copying information from the Emergency 911 database. The District Attorney’s Office did not file charges against him.

Allyson Hill, a six-year employee of the EMA office, has been the acting director since Parker was first placed on leave in May 2011. Cole said Hill is considered the department’s interim director, but the commission has not moved on whether to give her the position permanently.

“Everyone’s happy with the job Allyson’s doing,” Cole said. “There’s full confidence in her. There just hasn’t been any formality taken yet.”

The commission has discussed creating an oversight committee for the agency, Cole said, but work on that hasn’t begun.

“It’s important, but other things have taken the commissioners’ time,” Cole said.
