JAY — College Goal Maine will take place at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 25, at Spruce Mountain High School North. The free workshop will provide parents and students of all ages with assistance in completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid form required for all state and federal financial aid, including loans. There will be computer labs with online access.

Passport Dinner
WILTON — The Wilson Grange Passport Dinner will travel to Pakistan for an evening of food, music and culture at 6 p.m. Friday, Jan. 27. $12 per person.
Wilson Grange invites diners to experience life in the northwest section of Pakistan. Nayab Jamal of Nowshera, Pakistan is living with host family Jan Collins and Irv Faunce in Wilton and is attending Gardiner Area High School. Nayab is a wonderful ambassador of her country and is excited about the opportunity to have Wilson Grange guests immerse themselves in an evening of Pakistani culture.
Authentic Pakistani dishes will be the theme of this month’s dinner and will be followed by a pictorial presentation of “Living in Pakistan.” On the menu is band gobhi, vegetable slaw, chicken tandoori, chawal, basmati rice, vegetable biryani (vegetarian’s option), cilantro chutney, naan, chai cake with sweet cream and blueberries, chai, mango punch and decaf coffee.

Nonprofit grants
FARMINGTON — Grants are available for Franklin and Somerset County nonprofits. Nonprofit and public organizations seeking funding for projects that draw on the strengths of the community and foster collaboration are encouraged to apply to the Western Mountains Fund, part of the Maine Community Foundation’s Community Building Grant Program.
A volunteer committee of Franklin and Somerset County residents and business leaders reviews grants and makes recommendations for funding. The deadline for applying is Feb. 15. Application and guidelines are available at www.mainecf.org.
