The Montagnard Snowshoeing Club had their first hike of the season last night. A large number of the members are planning to take a trip to Lake Sabattus on Sunday where they will be guests at one of the cottages there.

50 years ago, 1962

A 17-year-old Auburn girl complained yesterday to Auburn police that she had been struck in the face and drenched with water while still asleep yesterday morning.

According to police, the girl’s lip was split by one of the blows delivered by her 15-year-old brother. The youth admitted that he had thrown the water on his sister and also struck her and said that his father had instructed him to throw the water on his sister when she did not get up.

LISBON — Five members of the Riverside Snowmobile Club are planning a 600 mile round-trip from Lisbon to St. George, Quebec, to raise funds for Project Graduation at Lisbon High School.

Club members will be meeting with President Jean Dwinal to complete details of the trip. Club members will be seeking pledges from businesses and individuals.
