AUBURN — Martha M. Beardsley, 83, a resident of Livermore went to be with the Lord on Jan. 9, while at The Hospice House of Androscoggin in Auburn.
She was born Sept. 10, 1928, in Monroe, Conn., the daughter of Kenneth and Marion (Johnson) Merrill. She graduated from Bridgeport Hospital School of Nursing in 1949.
On Nov. 12, 1949, in Monroe, she married Orlen Beardsley. Martha worked for many years as a delivery room nurse at Danbury Hospital, and later worked in a private medical office and as a private duty nurse until her retirement.
For many years, she was a Girl Scout leader and also very active as a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution and Daughters of American Colonists. She was a member of the North Livermore Baptist Church, where she belonged to the American Baptist Women and the Kings’ Daughters and Sons. She loved reading, sewing, knitting and cooking. She loved her family and especially enjoyed family times together.
She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Orlen Beardsley of Livermore; daughter, Susan Yarosh of Seymour, Conn.; sons, Daniel Beardsley and wife, Jada, of Union and Alan Beardsley and wife, Joline, of Livermore; eight grandchildren, Richard, Timothy, Lisa and Faith Yarosh, Michael, Danielle and Alexis Beardsley, and Matthew Lalemand; four great-grandchildren, Kira Yarosh, Richard Yarosh Jr., Aiden Beardsley and Lily Lalemand.
She was predeceased by her parents.
