EAST LIVERMORE — Everett W. Stewart, 72, of East Livermore, died unexpectedly Tuesday, Dec. 27, at his home.

He was born Sept. 25, 1939, in Farmington, a son of Charles and Luella (King) Stewart. He attended schools in Wayne, Readfield and Livermore Falls, graduating from Livermore Falls High School.

In 1959, he married Brenda Bubier and they made their home in East Livermore, as he was employed by Livermore Falls Shoe and Jack Murphy at Murphy’s Barn. Until the time of its’ closing, he most recently worked at the Otis Mill in Jay in shipping and receiving and later in security.

For years, he enjoyed raising and racing horses as well as hunting and fishing when his health allowed. He also was an avid New England sports fan, especially of the Boston Red Sox and New England Patriots and was involved in a men’s bowling league in Livermore Falls. One of his favorite pastimes was riding over to Smithfield for the auctions with his dear friend, Jr. Nichols.

He is survived by his wife, Brenda Stewart of East Livermore; children, Cheryl Berube of South Carolina, Linda Nemethy and her husband, Luke, of East Livermore, Debora Hiscock and her husband, Leroy, of East Livermore and Donald Stewart and his longtime companion, Kim McCabe, of Pawley’s Island, S.C.; siblings, James Stewart and his wife, Doris, of Sabattus, Bertha Harris and her husband, Joe, of Chesterville, Patricia Coolidge and her husband, Ed, of Jay, Madeline Heikenen and her husband, Greg, of Winthrop and Sandra Robinson and her husband, Russell, of Cape Elizabeth; 15 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.

He was predeceased by his parents; an infant brother and sister; and an infant granddaughter, Hope.
