I am responding to Gov. Paul LePage’s proposed budget cuts, which includes 30 program cuts like Section 8, MaineCare, food stamps, and so on.

If the governor passes a bill to cut the programs, there will be a statewide panic which will lead to higher crime, higher death rates and more homeless people.

I think it is best not to cut programs for low-income people; the disabled and the elderly. It’s the only way that they can live and survive. If the bill passes, the governor will be hurting the people of Maine.

There has got to be a better plan to budget the $220,000 million in debt and not hurt low-income people, or the disabled or elderly.
