RUMFORD — Carolyn M. Lindsay, 86, died Monday, Dec. 26, at the Rumford Hospital. She was a resident of Church Street in Andover.
She was born in Billerica, Mass., July 22, 1925, a daughter of Harold and Bernice (Lakeman) Plumley. She graduated from Howe High School, Billerica, Mass. She worked as a telephone operator and did volunteer work at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Nashua, N.H., then worked as a policewoman in Hollis, N.H., and later was a volunteer receptionist at the York Hospital, York. Carolyn attended church regularly wherever she lived and recently was attending the Andover Congregational Church, Andover. She enjoyed gardening, painting and traveling with her husband.
She was married in Billerica, Mass., to Edward Lindsay, who died in 2004.
Survivors include daughters, Janet Bowman and husband, Glenn Dunn, of Andover and Lisa LeBorgne of Corinth, N.Y.; six grandchildren, William Pelletier of Andover, Kristel Irish and husband, Daniel, of Andover, Rebecca Willson and companion, Mark Costa, of East Andover, Eli Willson of Andover, Adam LeBorgne and wife, Mary, of Berlin, N.H., and Brian Lavoie of Antrim, N.H.; many great-grandchildren; a special niece, Susan Mancinelli and family of Connecticut; and a special friend, John Ricker of Andover.
