FARMINGTON — Francis Patrick “Mac” McGrath, 77, of Farmington, died peacefully at home in the early morning hours of Sunday, Dec. 11.

He was born in Hammond, Minn., Dec. 8, 1934, and proudly served his country, first by serving in the U.S. Army and later the U.S. Navy.

He was an oil rig mechanic with Kerr McGee and was a retired millwright from IP in Jay. Mac was a member of the Farmington American Legion Post. He was mechanically inclined and always enjoyed tinkering on equipment.

He was also a NASCAR fan and a faithful PATS football fan.

He leaves his wife, Linda McGrath of Richmond, Texas; three children, Dwayne and Dennis McGrath, both of Richmond, Texas, and Danita McGrath Favre of Diamondhead, Miss.; his loving companion, Gail Watts and her son, Michael Watts, both of Farmington; Gail’s daughter and son-in-law, Kristen and Michael Dorey of Hudson; three grandchildren, Sarah Dorey, Lexi and Briley Rose Watts; his siblings, Mrs. Margaret Henry, Mrs. Mary Olson, Mrs. Catherine Kerrins, Maurice McGrath, all of whom live in Minnesota, and Mrs. Peter McGrath of Indiana, and a wonderful friend, Pam Hayden of Strong.

He was predeceased by his parents; and brothers, Gerald and Peter McGrath.
