An estimated 3,000 Central Maine Power customers in the Six Corners area of Auburn were without electricity from approximately 5:45 p.m. until 8 p.m., according to a spokesman for the company, due to a problem with three circuits in the Auburn substation.

Power company crews shifted power loads and transmission lines to restore service. Because of the switching involved, some customers remained without electricity until shortly after 9 p.m.
