HARRISON — Dog and cat owners can get their pets a rabies shot Saturday from 1 to 3 p.m. at the fire station. The clinic is sponsored by the town as a public service, according to Town Clerk Judy Colburn, and is available to nonresidents as well as residents. The cost is $10.

The clinic is set up every year in preparation for the yearly renewal of dog licenses. According to Maine law, dog owners must have proof of vaccination in order to renew dog licenses, which run out Dec. 31.

Bridgton Veterinary Hospital staff will be administering the shots. Dog owners have until the end of January to renew licenses, Colburn said.
