LIVERMORE FALLS — On Nov. 28, the Jay Livermore Falls Seniors met at Murray Hall with Shirley Couture, chairwoman, presiding, with 33 members present. Heather Chandel, coordinator of volunteer services, along with Robin Andrews presented a short history of SeniorsPlus and the services they offer. They spoke of the need for volunteers at the Masonic Lodge in Wilton where lunches are served Monday, Wednesday and Thursday at noon. They are in need of a leader volunteer for that service.

Shirley reported the Friends Forever club was very grateful for the pies that the seniors donated Thanksgiving week. It was also announced that they are moving to Livermore Falls at the building which was formally Bowen Bros. car dealership. The space will better serve the people who come since it’s all on one floor and better parking. On the sick list this week is Mary Lou Legere, Dot Wilson and Marilyn Desoto.

The Christmas party for the group will be held on Dec. 19 at Murray Hall. The cost is $7 for members. The meal will be prepared and served at noon by Nancy Couture. The menu is chicken rice soup, caesar salad, baked stuffed chicken breast with voluto sauce, baked stuffed haddock with egg and white sauce, whipped potatoes, seasoned green beans, hot dinner rolls and butter. Dessert will be ice cream puffs with chocolate sauce. Reservations and payment for the meal must be made by Dec. 12.

Donna Cook and the group sang “Happy Birthday” to George Doiron, Georgia Hersey and Jeanne Williams, who celebrated birthdays in November.

Shirley also announced that the Dine Around tickets available through SeniorsPlus are $5 beginning Dec. 5.

The 50/50 was won by Elvina Miller. A successful Chinese auction was held following the meeting. Members enjoyed refreshments served by Theresa Bilodeau, Aurelien and Shirley Couture and played games and cards.

Any residents of the area who are 55 or over are welcome to share an afternoon of socializing at Murray Hall at 1 p.m. every Monday.
