BRIDGTON — Chickadee Quilters recently made a $600 donation to the Bridgton Community Center and a $500 donation to the BCC Fuel Collaborative.

The BCC Fuel Collaborative is a program of the Bridgton Community Center which provides emergency fuel to Bridgton residents. The program is funded by donations and fundraising. Carmen Lone, director of the BCC, estimates that $12,000 is needed to get through this winter. Including the $500 from the Chickadee Quilters the fund totals $3,860.

The Chickadee Quilters’ annual July Quilt Show has become a major event in Bridgton over the past 30 years. The club also supports the Bridgton Recreation Department and Good Shepherd Food Bank, makes a quilt every year to be raffled for Harvest Hills and makes comfort quilts for local fire victims. Chickadee Quilters is a part of the Linus Group which will be meeting in January.
