The organizations are working to increase access to post-secondary education for Mainers. Each group will receive funding from the Maine Community Foundation and management coaching from CGV.
The program will help Franklin County Community College to support business plan development, development of marketing strategies and outreach to the region’s business community.
It will assist the University of Maine at Machias expand early college programs for area high school students in partnership with Machias High School and the Telling Room to strengthen the college preparation component of an after-school literacy program serving teenage refugee and immigrant students in Portland.
“We share the mission of these organizations: to lower barriers to post-secondary education,” said Meredith Jones, Maine Community Foundation president and CEO.
The program was established in 2002 to provide technical and financial assistance to organizations seeking ways to deliver their programs or services more effectively and to increase their social impact.
