FARMINGTON — The United Way of the Tri-Valley Area and the Fairbanks School Neighborhood Association will host the Great Charity Auction: Art, Antiques, & Adventure on Saturday, Nov. 19, at the North Dining Hall at University of Maine Farmington.
The festivities begin with an early bird social and live auction preview from 5:30 to 6 p.m. with a cash bar and hors d’oeuvres. A silent auction will run from 5:30 to 7 p.m. with the live auction beginning at 6. Auctioneers for the evening are Adrian Harris and Wendy and Rodney Allen.
Auction items include, but are not limited to, fine artwork by local artisans, lodging for a one-week mystery trip with reduced plane fare, World Tournament Poker set, handmade quilts, fly fishing excursion with locally tied flies, jewelry, exquisitely crafted furniture, including a Windsor chair and long-handled cherry step stool, gift certificates from generous area businesses, heirloom antiques and more.
Proceeds from the auction support the community-based programs supported by the United Way of the Tri-Valley Area and the Fairbanks School Neighborhood Association. These include nutrition, domestic violence prevention and youth programs.
