LEWISTON — Millie A. Hamblin, 93, former resident of Livermore and the Chapman House located in Auburn, passed away at CMMC in Lewiston, Oct. 30, following a short illness.

She was born July 25, 1918, in South Livermore, the daughter of Asa C. and Lottie (Ranger) Hiscock. She attended school in South Livermore and graduated from Leavitt Institute in 1936.

During World War II, she worked as a welder at Portland Naval Shipyard. Later, she was employed at Raytheon in Lewiston and retired from Pioneer Plastics in Auburn. Millie was the best mother one could ever have, a beautiful and positive person, who remained optimistic every day of her life.

She was a devoted mother and always kept her family and her faith utmost in her life. An avid reader of the Bible, she attended Wayside Baptist Church in Livermore and the Nazarene Church in Auburn. She loved trying new recipes and working in her vegetable garden in Livermore.

She is survived by two sons, Edward Hamblin and wife, Marcia, of Livermore and Steven Hamblin and wife, Maureen, of Wilton; seven grandchildren and families, Alison Jackson, Mark and Ross Hamblin, Bryn Doiron and Katy Carignan and Kim Baker and Jason Steele; 16 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; three sisters, Alta Rogers of Auburn, Ruth Hiltz of Lewiston and Betty Jane Decoster of Minot; one brother, Paul Hiscock of Natick, Mass.; two half sisters, Mary and Anna Mitchell of Livermore; and many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her parents; her loving daughter, Trena Steele; three brothers, Burt, Carl and Merle Hiscock; and three sisters, Edith Payeur, Violet Emerson and Gloria Brown.
