GRAY — Ellen S. Parady, 79, passed away Oct. 31, surrounded by her family and friends.

She was born in Gray, Dec. 12, 1931, the daughter of Ernest and Mildred Sawyer Kimball. Ellen graduated from Pennell Institute. She married George A. Parady Jr. in July 1952. Being a sailor’s wife of 59 years. Together after retirement, they traveled the world over, touching almost every continent. Through the Grange, she gave away many scholarships to young deserving seniors.

Ellen was a natural musician, excited to offer the gift of music to everyone. She was a lifelong to countless organizations, devoted to the First Congregational of Gray and her community. She was an Avon representative up and down the East coast. Ellen was always crafting or involved in a new project.

She is survivied by two daughters, Cynthia Carter of Hampton, Va., and Joanne Swenson and her husband, Ken, of Hebron; five grandchildren, Toby and Chris Reynolds of Hayes, Va., Joshua, Andria and Nate Swenson, all of Hebron; five great-grandchildren; a brother, Gordon Kimball Sr.; and her husband, George.

Ellen was predeceased by her parents; and her brother, Gerald Kimball.
