WILTON — Two people were injured Wednesday afternoon when two cars collided at McCrillis Corner Road and Route 133, police officer Matthew Billian said.
Justin Meyer, 18, of Vienna was traveling west on McCrillis Corner Road at about 3:30 p.m. and Fred Conlogue, 45, of Farmington was driving south on Route 133 when they collided at the intersection, Billian said.
Conlogue had two passengers: Tammy Conlogue, 46, and a teenager, who Billian would not identify. Meyer was traveling alone, the officer said.
The collision spun Conlogue’s vehicle around and caused Meyer’s car to roll, go airborne momentarily and land upside down in a ditch. Sean Boyd, who witnessed the crash, said Meyer’s car flipped around in the air.
Meyer was able to crawl out of his car. He was taken to Franklin Memorial Hospital in Farmington by NorthStar Ambulance with minor scrapes and bruises, Billian said. He was treated and released, a hospital representative said.
Tammy Conlogue was also transported to FMH with a collarbone injury, Billian said. She was still being treated at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday.
All four were wearing seat belts.
Police are investigating a possible car defect as a contributing factor, Billian said. Neither speed nor alcohol were factors in the crash and there are no charges at this time, Billian said.
Farmington police helped with traffic and Wilton Fire Department assisted with traffic and cleanup of fluid, he said.
Meyer’s 1993 Pontiac Grand Prix and Conlogue’s 2009 Ford Focus were demolished.
