BETHEL — The doors at Crescent Park School will open Friday at 6:30 p.m. for the 31st annual Bethel Outing Club Ski Sale, which runs from 6:30 to 9 p.m. Friday, Oct. 28, and from 9 to 11:30 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 29. Thousands of items of new and used alpine, telemark, cross-country, snowboard and outdoor gear from a dozen ski shops from throughout northern New England will be on sale as well as used equipment from individuals, with proceeds benefiting the nonprofit work of the Bethel Outing Club.

The used gear will be in a separate area in the cafeteria, while the new gear from the shops will be in the gym and stage area. All used gear (other than ski shop items) not sold or removed by the seller by 9 p.m. Friday night will be on sale Saturday at half price.

Individuals are invited to bring non-obsolete equipment to sell, subject to a 15 percent consignment fee, on Friday, Oct. 29, after 3 p.m. Tags are available at the sale for 50 cents per tag, or for “express check-in,” in advance at the Bethel Area Chamber of Commerce and True North Adventureware, with up to four tags for free and 25 cents per additional tag. Persons with more than four items are encouraged to complete their tickets prior to the sale.

Since 1980, sale proceeds have helped the club to provide ski equipment to cross-country ski programs in the local schools, free or low-cost instruction and coaching, and outdoor programs for children and adults. Details about the ski sale and the club and membership are available at www.bethelouting.org.
