BETHEL — The Bethel Library Association 2011-12 Annual Giving Campaign is underway. Last year the library reached its goal of $12,000; the same goal is set for this year. The money raised will help fund collections, programs, services and the general operation of the library.
One of the projects funded by donations is the exterior repair work that has been taking place recently. Howard Parsons and his crew have been removing lead-based paint, replacing damaged boards and painting the exterior.
One of the programs is the new weekly children’s story hour with Lisa Fox and librarian Michelle Conroy. Story Hour is Thursday from 10 to 11 a.m. and is open to all children ages 2 to 5. The child must be accompanied by an adult.
Beginning in the spring of 2012, library patrons will be able to access e-books free of charge through the library.
These are just some of the things that donations make possible. To make a donation, send a check to Bethel Library Association, P.O. Box 130, Bethel, ME 04217. The library can be reached at 824-2520.
