BETHEL — Selectmen will conduct a public hearing at 7 p.m. Monday, Oct. 17, on a proposed 5.06 percent increase in sewer customer billing rates.
The meeting will be held at the town office.
Currently, a minimum quarterly charge of $115.50 is assessed, based on a minimum volume of 1,500 cubic feet, regardless of actual metered water usage below that volume, according to a recent report.
A rate of $7.70 per 100 cubic feet of metered water usage is now assessed above 1,500 cubic feet of metered water usage.
Effective this month, a minimum quarterly charge not to exceed $121.35 will be assessed, based on a minimum volume of 1,500 cubic feet, regardless of actual metered water usage below that volume.
The new rate will be reflected on January bills.
A rate not to exceed $8.09 per 100 cubic feet of metered water usage will be assessed above 1,500 cubic feet of usage.
