LEWISTON — Community Partners, Inc. held an open house for a new five-person group home for adults with developmental disabilities.

Mayor Laurent F. Gilbert Sr. and several representatives from the Maine Department of Health and Human Services toured the new single-story home, which is next to CPI’s 12-bed nursing home on Old Lisbon Road.

According to Rory Robb, director of Clinical Services for CPI, “We are very excited about a new accessible permanent home for the people we support in Lewiston. The new energy-efficient home replaces the three rentals, which will reduce our utility and staffing overhead, and also ensure long term control over housing costs.”

Architect Stephen Fraser of Scott Simons Architects, along with John Blanchard, Jonathan Blanchard and David Cushman of H. E. Callahan Construction, also came for the celebration. The Bangor Savings Bank Foundation awarded CPI a $3,000 grant to fund computer and information technology installation at Lewiston Ridge.

CPI has been providing direct support services to adults with developmental disabilities since 1967. For further information, contact Amy Safford at 282-7113, ext. 125.
