TURNER — A School Garden Open House will be held on Saturday, Oct. 1, at schools and school gardens across Maine to raise awareness of the many benefits of educational gardening programs. Events will be free and open to the public. Expect a cornucopia of garden-related activities, including garden tours, gardening demonstrations, games, food tastings, garden-themed artwork, music and more.
Leavitt Area High School will be among those participating. Other school systems will include Scarborough, Bath, Wiscasset, Georgetown, South Berwick and more.
