NEW GLOUCESTER —A Rumford man has been cited for popping a wheelie on his motorcyle while riding on the Maine Turnpike.
According to a message sent by the Maine Department of Public Safety a State Police sargent stopped and charged Trevor Hebert, 25 of Rumford after Hebert was spotted riding on one wheel for about 50 feet.
Sgt. Jim Urquhart summonsed Hebert after he “accelerated quickly and raised the front wheel of the motorcycle off the ground,” according to the release.
“Hebert put both tires back on the pavement after seeing the cruiser,” the release stated.
Herbert was ticketed for raising the front wheel of the motorcycle from the road surface, according to Urquhart.
