With the mercury only one degree above freezing at the thermometer at the Lewiston gate house, and much lower than that in other places, this section of Androscoggin got its first taste of heavy frost Thursday morning. There have been no damaging frosts so early as this for several years. In different parts of the two cities, the severity of the frost varied. Crops were heavily affected. In Lisbon corn was frozen solid and damage done to other crops.

The dealership for Dodge, Dart and the Lancer cars in Androscoggin County has been awarded to Marcel Motors of 1155 Lisbon St. No firm has held the dealership since it was surrendered by Twin City Motor Co. about a year ago.

Lewiston police were to question suspects in the reported theft of medical instruments from the emergency room of Central Maine Medical Center, 300 Main St., Lewiston.
Two forceps, two hemostats, a needle holder, two pairs of scissors and a blade handle were taken between 7:30 p.m. Saturday and 3:40 a.m. Sunday, according to police.
