WILTON — The Wilton Day Homemakers Extension Group met recently for a planning meeting.

The group will take a trip to Rangeley on Oct. 1, leaving the St. Luke’s Church in Wilton at 8 a.m. to visit three museums.

The community service project “Flags for Main Street” will start in the next couple of months. All businesses and organizations will be receiving paper work about the project.

The group will be at the Farmington Fair from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 22. On Oct. 4, members will be at the Trinity Church from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. to make pot holders.

On Oct. 6, an open house will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at St. Luke’s Church on High Street. Speaker will be Donna Bucher from the Extension office. Also presented will be other information on what the group will be doing and what it has done.

Group members will travel to the State House on Oct. 13, leaving at 8 a.m., for a private tour.

Nov. 19 will be the group’s first craft fair, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Table rentals are $15.

Members were reminded to save all tabs from soda cans, cat food cans, soup cans, etc.

Community Service Project will be for 6-inch knit or crochet squares or 12.5-inch sewn blocks, to be finished on “finish it day.”

Plans for the next year of programs were made, to include nature craft, flag etiquette, Lyme disease, appetizers and salads, finish it day, outing, geographical area, decorations for the tree of light and the holiday party.

Lunch was sandwiches followed by two cakes.
