JAY — The Jay, Livermore, Livermore Falls Chamber of Commerce’s next breakfast meeting will be held at 7 a.m. Friday, Sept. 9, at LaFleur’s Restaurant in Jay.

The program speaker will be Jonathan LaBonte, executive director of Androscoggin Land Trust and the local Chisholm Trails program.

The Androscoggin Land Trust is a membership supported land conservation organization dedicated to protecting, through land conservation and stewardship, important natural areas, traditional landscapes and outdoor experience in the Androscoggin River watershed. ALT currently conserves more than 4,750 acres, 1,200 of which are in the area. Chisholm Trails, created in 2009 with support from the National Park Service, has been actively planning for trails and recreation in the Jay-Livermore Falls and supported a grant application to the state Land for Maine’s Future that was submitted by ALT, along with the town of Jay, Otis Ventures LLC and Verso Paper. LaBonte will recap area activities this year, and discuss future plans and programs for the area to build on the Androscoggin River for economic development.

Breakfast sponsor for meeting is Rob Boothby of Boothby’s Orchard. Member in the Spotlight will be Betty Genzel, Franklin County Community College Network.

Members are encouraged to attend and invite a fellow business person as their guest at the meeting. RSVP to the Chamber Office at jllf@jay-livermore-lf.com or 897-6755 by Thursday, Sept. 8.
