RUMFORD — Police say they found drugs and weapons while serving a search warrant Tuesday at the home of a Rumford man awaiting trial since spring on drug-trafficking charges.

Maine Drug Enforcement agent Tony Milligan arrested Aaron Brasuell, 34, of 21 Rumford Ave. on Tuesday on two counts each of aggravated drug trafficking and violation of bail conditions.

Items seized during the search were OxyContin, Vicodin, snorting straws, drug paraphernalia and scales, Rumford police Capt. Daniel Garbarini said.

He said police also seized weapons, including a sword, a double-bladed stainless steel knife, a police baton, a steel ball-and-chain assault weapon and a steel baton with spikes.

Brasuell was taken to Oxford County Jail in Paris to await arraignment.

At the time of his arrest, Brasuell was free on felony bail from his arrest on April 8 on two charges of aggravated trafficking in painkillers OxyContin and Percocet.

Due to that arrest, Brasuell was released to Maine Pre-Trial Services and required to provide unscheduled urine samples for drug testing, Garbarini said. He was also banned from possessing any drugs or illegal weapons.

Garbarini said the prosecutor’s office and Maine Pre-Trial Services were considering filing a motion to revoke Brasuell’s bail.
