WILTON — On July 23, the Wilton Academy class of 1966 held its 45th class reunion at the Wilton American Legion. There were 25 classmates and 13 guests attending and after the social there was a catered meal from Shelly’s Hometown Market where Owen Stinson said a prayer before everyone ate.
Stinson and Paul Beisaw started the evening off with asking 25 trivia questions about classmates’ years at Wilton Academy. Bonnie Jordon Meunier was the big winner.
Shannon Smith opened the program by sharing the following facts: Paula West Griswold came the farthest from Alaska; The classmates that replied had a total of 100 children; There were 15 local classmates attending; and classmates came from Pennsylvania, Alaska, New Hampshire, New Jersey, Nevada, Florida and British Columbia, Canada.
A moment of silence was held for the seven departed classmates. Stinson read “One is not forgotten if they are remembered.” The deceased were Tom Austin Jr., Gerald Dakin, Janice Bottiggi Smith, Richard Wilson, George White, Rodney Vining and James Fournier.
A short summary was given about each classmate attending. A financial statement was given of the expenses of the reunion. A blueberry basket as a door prize was won by Starr White Jones. Each classmate was given a Franklin County Chamber of Commerce guild. Shannon thanked the committee for all their help: Paul and Sharyn Beisaw, Owen and Brenda Toothaker Stinson, Barry and Julie Therrien. It was announced that there would be an updated classmate list mailed out for the cost of $2. It was discussed and decided to have the 50th class reunion the same time in 2016.
The reunion was continued on Sunday at Kinawatha Park with a continental breakfast before classmates returned to their homes. About 18 attended.
