WILTON — Well-known folk duo Simons & Goodwin will perform Friday, Aug. 26, at Baker’s Market Cafe, as part of the Sing to ME in Wilton concert series.

Bob Simons and Renee Goodwin met more than 40 years ago as members of the folk music scene, then pursued independent music careers before forming an acoustic act in 2006.

Since then, they have given performances featuring covers of Americana music, including pop standards, soft rock, country, blues and traditional folk. The Simons & Goodwin repertoire also includes songs written by Simons.

The duo’s trademark is a warmth, coming from years of friendship and intricate harmonies, that gives listeners the feeling they are spending time, and sharing music, with two old friends.

Admission is by donation, with all proceeds going to performers. Light supper items and desserts will be available before the 7 p.m. concert. Seating is limited. For reservations, call 645-7107. The cafe is at 285 Main St.
