POLAND — The Western Maine Veterans’ Advisory Committee will hold a golf tournament at Fairlawn Golf Course on Wednesday, Aug. 24, to support veterans. All funds received will be used exclusively for activities and needs of the residents at the Maine Veterans’ Home in South Paris.
Goodwin Chevrolet Buick in Oxford will donate a new 2011 Chevrolet Avalanche as a prize to the first person who sinks a hole-in-one on the second hole. Goodwin’s will also donate one of the following prizes for the first hole in one at the remaining three par-three holes: a set of Calloway razor irons (4-SW), three days and two nights at the TPC Sawgrass or the San Antonio and finally a Calloway Razor driver, 3 and 5 wood.
Shotgun start will be at 10 a.m. This tournament will use a scramble format.
