BUCKFIELD — A Buckfield teen was charged Saturday with breaking into cars and driving one without permission.
Devvyn Pinard, 18, of 27 High St., faces three charges of criminal burglary and one charge of unauthorized property use, all Class D offenses. Pinard was released on personal recognizance after his arraignment Monday. Pinard pleaded not guilty to all charges.
According to a report by Cpl. Justin Brown of the Oxford County Sheriff’s Office, Brown responded to a report of an empty vehicle on the Buckfield-Hartford town line and learned the vehicle had been stolen from Depot Street in Buckfield.
Brown learned that suspects had entered three other vehicles, opened glove boxes and tried to remove car stereos. While conducting interviews, Brown spoke to Dustin Flanders of Paris. Flanders said he had been riding in a car with Pinard and got out of the car when he realized it had been stolen, Brown said.
Flanders has not been charged in the incident.
According to Brown’s report, Pinard admitted to taking the car but denied breaking into the other vehicles. In writing, Pinard later admitted to breaking into the other vehicles, Brown wrote.
Pinard is set to appear at District Court in Paris at 8:30 a.m. Nov. 22. As part of his bail conditions, Pinard was ordered to stay away from Flanders and not to use alcohol or drugs.
