The Skylark Jazz Ensemble will kick off the Mahoosuc Arts Council’s free summer bandstand series at 4 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 7, at the Bethel Common. The group’s music is a mix of jazz standards and other popular songs from light swing to blues and even an occasional country song. Making up the ensemble are Janet Gill, vocals; Carol Rhoads, keyboard; Bob Wallace, bass; and Carl Harbourt, percussion. Bring a chair or a blanket. If it rains, the concert will be held at the Bingham Auditorium, 45 Church St., Bethel.
