Al and Kenny, who have been playing together in various musical configurations since the mid-1980s, will perform at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 9, at the gazebo in Turner Center. Al Scheeren of Stratton and Kenney Cox of Readfield have an eclectic repertoire, including country, rock, classic pop, swing, blues, folk and old standards. The two play weekly at Sugarloaf in Kingfield and field a six-piece group called The Band From Uncle, which has the same broad repertoire. Years ago, Scheeren played with Jud Strunk and is often asked to play Strunk’s “Daisy a Day,” which made the Billboard Top 20 on both the country and pop music charts.
