TURNER — Perpetual e-Motion will perform its blend of jazz, bluegrass and fusion on July 26, as part of the gazebo summer concert series held Tuesdays “on the green” in Turner Center.

The duo, aka Ed Howe and John Cote, integrates technical and sonic innovations with old-school traditions to create its trademark dance music.

Howe, who started playing fiddle at age 4, has been a regular instructor for Maine Fiddle Camp since 2003. He has an extensive electronics background. He plays a five-string NS Design electronic violin and makes extensive use of the BOSS RC-50 loop station to layer and orchestrate a variety of sounds from his instrument. He plays barefooted, operating complex electronic equipment with his feet.

Cote accompanies many Maine and New England fiddlers and is a private teacher and instructor at Maine Fiddle Camp. He attended the Berklee College of music for two years after high school, studying film scoring. He later transferred to the University of Maine at Augusta’s jazz program and earned a bachelors degree in jazz performance.

Cote plays a Godin acoustic electric guitar connected into synthesizer module. He simultaneously plays the didgeridoo, an Australian aboriginal instrument, and foot percussion.

The free outdoor concerts begin at 6:30 p.m.
