PERU — The Peru Historical Society will meet at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, July 26, at the Peru Historical Society Building.

Combined services

BETHEL — The Rumford United Methodist Church will join the Rumford Center United Methodist and Bethel United Methodist churches Sunday, July 31, for a combined service at the Bethel Methodist Church at 10. There will be no service at the Rumford churches on July 31.

Class of 1952

DIXFIELD — The class of ’52 from Stephens High School of Rumford will meet at 11:30 a.m. Monday, Aug. 1, at The Front Porch. All class members and guests welcome.

Bug collector

MEXICO — As part of the “Terrific Tuesdays” summer program for kids, the Mexico Public Library will host a special program at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 2.

Bug enthusiast Jim Nutting will bring his fun and informative program. Nutting has his own studio and has been an exhibitor at BugMania at the Maine State Museum. He has been collecting insects since he was five years old and has a very impressive collection of live insects. He will also have glass cases with insect collections. Although he will bring a large variety of insects, his specialty is butterflies.

Adams reunion

WILTON — The 133rd annual reunion for the descendants of Moses and Martha Kinney Adams was held July 16 at Kineowatha Park. There were 12 members present.

A potluck lunch was enjoyed by all. A business meeting followed.

The oldest member present was Bernard Adams Jr., 94, of Canton. The youngest was Prudy Adams, 41, of Canton.

One death was reported during the past year, Gwen Bessey of South Paris. There were no births reported.
