Nineteen volunteers have transformed the former Grant’s department store on Lisbon Street into a book shop for the Lewiston Public Library’s two-day used book sale, which begins at 10 a.m. Friday.
“It’s kind of neat having our own bookstore this year for the sale,” says LPL Director Richard A. Speer, who has worked with volunteers to move more than 6,000 volumes to the sale’s new location.”I think that having the sale at the store will eliminate a lot of problems for us. In the past, we’ve had it at the library, and it’s been difficult.”
