FARMINGTON — The 2nd annual Pie On The Porch will be held from 2 to 6 p.m. Friday, July 30, on the Holman Parish House porch and lawn, 225 Main St. The event coincides with Farmington’s SummerFest.

There will be a private group seating for area nursing homes and assisted care facilities from 1 to 2 p.m. Reservations are requested for this special seating by noon Thursday, July 28.

Musical entertainment will be offered throughout the afternoon and will feature a variety of music styles from individuals, duos and groups. The musical entertainers scheduled to perform are: Jackie Ranco on keyboard and vocals from 1-1:30 p.m.; the vocal trio of Ellie Buckland, Abbie Flanagan and Lena Kendall with guitar from 1:30 to 2 p.m.; an instrumental trio including fiddlers Ellie Buckland and Silas Rogers along with Seth Wegner on cello from 2 to 2:30 p.m.; vocals and guitar by Chris Poulson from 2:30 to 3 p.m.; Thad Gunther on keyboard from 3 to 3:30 p.m.; Jane Parker and Donna Campion and company will offer up light opera and popular songs during the period of Madame Nordica’s reign from 3:30 to 5:45 p.m.; Old South Church’s InnerRythm Drummers will perform a short set beginning at 5 p.m.; “Spoons” with Bill Hoyt and Lori Grassette will close out the afternoon with vocals and a variety of stringed and old-fashioned instruments.

In case of rain Pie On The Porch will be held next door at the Old South First Congregational Church.

The cost for a serving of fresh home baked pie or old-fashioned dessert with whipped cream topping and beverage will be $4. Al a mode with vanilla ice cream will be available for an additional charge of fifty cents. Cold bottled water and iced tea will be available for passers-by for a small charge.

Takeout will be available. Proceeds will benefit the Old South Church community service and outreach programs. For more information contact the church office at 778-0424.
