LEWISTON — The Lewiston-Auburn Duplicate Bridge Club met on July 5 at the Multi-Purpose Center. Winners in Flight A were: 1st, Fred Letourneau and Jeanine Kivus; 2nd, Patricia Quinn and Rosemarie Goodwin; 3rd, Luke Merry and Michael Quinn; 4th, Marta Clements and Nancy Farmer.
Winners in Flight B were: 1st, Alberta Turner and Lucille Bilodeau; 2nd, Hazel Glazier and Priscilla Rooth. Another game will be held at 9 a.m., Tuesday, July 12, at the center.
The club also met on July 6 at Schooner Estates in Auburn. Winners in The Quarterly Club Championship were: 1st, Jeanine Kivus and Rosemarie Goodwin; tied at second, Richard Allen and Martha Young with Fred Letourneau and Sherry Hinckley. TOPSHAM — Mid-Coast Presbyterian Church will have Sundaes on the Lawn, at 7 p.m. Thursdays, July 14, 21 and 28, at 84 Main St.

Nature hikes
NEW GLOUCESTER — The monthly nature hikes at Sabbathday Lake Shaker Village, Route 26, will be held on Saturday, July 18. The morning hike begins at 10 a.m. and the afternoon hike begins at 1:30 p.m. Carol Beyna, a trained naturalist, will guide participants through the Shaker farm fields, the woods down to Sabbathday Lake and Loon’s Point and then back over the footbridge at Aurelia’s Cascade. Baby bonnets
LEWISTON — The Patrick Dempsey Center for Cancer Hope & Healing at Central Maine Medical Center is encouraging sewing enthusiasts of all levels to join a special session with Sue Biddle. Participants will learn how to create baby bonnets to for the No Sun for Baby program which educates parents of newborns about the importance of sun protection. The event will take place from 9 a.m. to noon Wednesday, July 20, at CMMC, 12 High St., Conference Room C.
Biddle is a graduate of Edward Little High School and owns Kindred Spirits Sewing Room in Auburn.
