Church services
NORTH WATERFORD — Church services for the North Waterford and Stoneham churches will be held during July at the North Waterford Church, located on Five Kezars Road, off Routes 35 and 37, opposite Melby’s Market.
The services begin at 10 a.m. with a coffee hour afterward. All are welcome.
Strawberry shortcake
NORTH WATERFORD — The North Waterford Congregational Church will hold a strawberry shortcake supper from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, July 5, including a variety of homemade casseroles, salads and other dishes, as well as the traditional baked beans and homemade strawberry shortcake.
The church is located on Five Kezars Road, off Routes 35 and 37. Public suppers will be held every other Tuesday during July and August. All are invited.
Festival date change
DIXFIELD — The Dixfield Congregational Church strawberry festival, canceled for July 2, will be held instead from 8 to 11:30 a.m. Saturday, July 9, on High Street.
Breakfast of Belgium waffles or pancakes and eggs will be served from 8 to 11 for $5.
Baked goods and strawberries will be on sale and shortcake with homemade biscuits will be available all morning.
Horseshoe tourney
RUMFORD — The horseshoe tournament that was slated to begin at 1 p.m. Monday, July 4, has been moved to a 10 a.m. start time due to safety concerns with the setting up of the fireworks display for the evening. For more information, call Mark at 357-9674.
The tournament will take place at the Hosmer Field complex, hosted by the Rumford/Mexico Horseshoe Club. It is a open tournament with luck of the draw partner double elimination format. There will be a 50/50 raffle
