TURNER —Monica Quimby, Ms. Wheelchair Maine, and sometimes R-rated comedian Bill Picard will join forces for a benefit show on Friday, June 17, at Leavitt Area High School.
Classic rock musicians Random Order will also play at the event benefiting Quimby’s quest to represent Maine at the National Ms. Wheelchair America Pageant in Grand Rapids, Mich.
Proceeds will also go toward the purchase of adaptive equipment for Heidi Conn, a guidance counselor at Edward Little who became paralyzed in March.
Picard, a Turner native, has cerebral palsy. Using a computer to help him speak, he takes on sex, relationships and the goofy things that people ask him. He has performed at Boston’s Comedy Connection and throughout New England, making several appearances at the Fireside Inn’s Comedy Night in Auburn.
Picard, who earned a four-year-degree in business administration from the University of Maine, is also a humorous inspirational speaker.
He describes himself as a normal guy who merely does some things differently.
The show will run from 6 to 9 p.m. Tickets are $20 at the door.
