WILTON — The Wilton Day Group met June 9 to go to the Front Porch Cafe. Seven members enjoyed lunch and breakfast. The group discussed having a craft fair in November to raise money for flags to be put up on Main Street in Wilton, East Dixfield and East Wilton. This will be the community service project for the next two years; the group will not be meeting over the summer to make pot holders.
After lunch members made a quick stop at Log Cabin Crafts, then visited the Wilton Historical Museum. Pam Brown, president of the Historical Society, gave a speech prior to a tour of the Bass Shoe collection, the Wilton Academy bottle room bedroom, kitchen/sewing room, toy collection and quilts.
The group will sew coverups from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesday, June 14, at the Trinity Methodist Church in Farmington. Please bring lunch and sewing supplies.
September’s meeting will be from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sept. 10. Members should bring a sandwich for the planning meeting. Beverage and dessert will be served.
An open house for new membership will be held on Oct. 6. The group will tour the State House in Augusta for the Oct. 13 meeting.
