- A group of baby birds that were nesting in the roof of the Gingerbread House tower made the 950-foot journey up Main Street Friday. The mother bird, above, left-hand side of the roof line, flies in to feed her babies that could be heard chirping in the tower’s roof. The Gingerbread House is expected to be moved into its final footprint on Tuesday. Jim Merry and his sons Steve and Jason were at the site Monday setting the wheels in the right direction to ensure the building gets set correctly when it begins to move the short distance again.
