Girl Scouts of Maine will host open house events at its four camp properties to give girls and their families an opportunity to see what camp is all about.

On Sunday, June 5, Camp Kirkwold in Readfield, Camp Pondicherry in Bridgton, and Camp Scelkit in Kittery Point, will be open for visitors from 1 to 4 p.m. Camp Natarswi, located just inside Baxter State Park, will host an open house from 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday, June 12.

Families visiting a camp will take a walking tour of the grounds, meet some of the camp staff and learn about Girl Scouts of Maine’s traditional, skills-building camp programs as well as specialty camp offerings.

“Our day and resident camps are open to Girl Scouts and non-Girl Scouts alike,” said Anne Randall, Girl Scouts of Maine camping services director. “Our programs are designed to meet the age, ability and interest of every girl and we are committed to providing each camper with a safe place to live, work and play while encouraging values, independence and respect for the environment.”

Driving directions, complete camp program information, and registration forms can be found at www.girlscoutsofmaine.org, or call 1-888-922-4763 for assistance.
