BRYANT POND — Woodstock Elementary School will host the first ever Produce Pursuit 5k Run/Walk and 1 mile Kid’s Fun Run on Saturday, June 11. All proceeds from the event will benefit the Fruit and Veggies Program that Woodstock implemented into their school three years ago.

The program started in 2008 when Woodstock School received a federal grant which provided them with money to purchase fruits and vegetables for all of their school and classroom celebrations. Since the 2008-09 school year, Woodstock School has not received this grant money. During the past two school years, Woodstock has been supporting this program through their activity fund.

All events begin and end at Woodstock Elementary School, 224 Rumford Ave. Registration for the 5k will begin at 7 a.m. Entry fee is $20. The one-mile “fun run” will be at 8 a.m., with a $10 entry fee. At 9 a.m., the 5k Run or Walk will begin.

Preregister online by visiting www.active.com. Forms also available at all SAD #44 schools. For more information, call 665-2228 or visit active.com.
