PARIS — Celebration Barn Theater will kick off the season with “The Fabulous Problemas,” an outrageous comedy about a renegade trio scheme to get rich through a life of crime, violence, song and dance.

The show, created and performed by Amanda Huotari, Daniel Orrantia and Aaron Tucker, tells the story of three desperados dreaming of riches and willing to do anything. They lie, cheat and steal from each other until they decide to band together and form a gang, The Fabulous Problemas.

The show, directed by Davis Robinson, will be staged at 8 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, June 3-4 and 10-11.

Huotari is executive director of Celebration Barn Theater. Her solo show, “The Soiree,” was a hit at the 2010 Orlando Fringe Festival. She has performed coast to coast, doing shows with The San Francisco Mime Troupe, Seattle’s Moisture Festival and The New York Clown-Theatre Festival.

Orrantia is a Colombian improviser and graphic designer. Interested in the relationship between game and theater, he has studied varied theater forms such as improvisation, clowning and physical theater. As part of La Gata, an improvisational theater company, he has performed in Europe and throughout South America. He is currently starring in a national Colombian ad campaign.

Tucker has worked as a professional circus clown since graduating from Ringling Brothers Clown College. He has toured the United States with the Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus and spent three years in Japan with the Kinoshita Circus. He currently works in the Big Apple Circus’ Clown Care Unit at Boston Children’s Hospital and Hasbro Children’s Hospital in Providence, R.I.

The trio met last year when Orrantia and Tucker spent the summer training at Celebration Barn. When the idea to create a new show was born, Orrantia invited Huotari and Tucker to work in Colombia. This spring, the trio spent a month in Bogota creating and rehearsing the show.

“This was my first trip to South America and it was so inspiring to be in Bogota, which is a huge modern city. In the show we play with fears of physical danger and explore the romantic fantasy of being a renegade,” Huotari said.
