NORWAY – Norway Memorial Library has announced the retirement of staff member Allison Rosenblatt as teen services coordinator at the end of May. There will be a reception for Allison at the library from 2 to 5 p.m. Thursday, May 26, for those who wish to drop by to wish her well.
Allison has worked at the library since 2005 in several different capacities. Most recently she was instrumental in opening the Teen Room at the library through a grant from the Stephen & Tabitha King Foundation. She developed the teen services program for the library and created a teen activity group as well as many programs, a book discussion blog and a teen newsletter and generally acting as an advocate for teens both in the library and in the community.
Allison also served with the book mobile for the past three years and encouraged teens to participate in this activity as well. She developed the Martin Luther King Community Service Day and managed this activity for three years. Allison was on the Friends of the Library board for several years and was the chairwman of this group for two years.
