Construction got under way Monday on Main Street in Livermore Falls as part of a joint effort by the state, Jay and Livermore Falls sewer departments and Livermore Falls Water District. The state plans to rebuild more than a mile of Route 4 from Bridge Street in Livermore Falls to Pineau Street in Jay. Pratt and Sons Inc. is replacing water mains and lines, and then sewer lines. On Monday there were two unexpected water line breaks: Route 4 in front of Motor Supply and Route 17 near the cemeteries, Water District Clerk Cheryl Marceau said.
